Event Systematic perspective

A company can train people in new tools without giving them any opportunity to progress. That weakens the connection between learning and work. A useful AI adoption plan should explain what employees can do differently after training and how they can demonstrate readiness for expanded responsibilities.

One approach is to create a short internal assignment with a defined supervisor and output. An employee might improve an approved reporting process or document a knowledge workflow. The assignment should have protected time, feedback and a visible route back into the person’s development discussion. It should not depend on working additional unpaid hours.

Put it into practice

  • Connect each learning pathway to an assignment, role requirement or progression discussion.
  • Make eligibility and selection criteria visible so opportunities do not circulate only through informal networks.
  • Measure completed work and subsequent role development alongside course participation.
