Event Systematic perspective
A strong brief states what is needed, why it matters, what information may be used and what would make the answer unacceptable. These are familiar management skills, but AI makes their absence particularly visible. Vague instructions can produce plausible work that misses the business question.
In a training session, ask managers to write a brief for a routine analysis and exchange it with a colleague. The colleague should identify ambiguity before any tool is used. Then inspect the generated output against the original criteria. This exercise develops clarity and review skills together, and avoids treating a polished answer as proof that the brief was sound.
Put it into practice
- Include purpose, audience, evidence requirements and escalation conditions in the brief.
- Ask the reviewer to explain the reason for acceptance or rejection.
- Preserve examples of failed briefs as learning material and revise the template based on actual use.
