Event Systematic perspective

Administrative tasks often give new employees a way to understand how an organisation works. If a team automates preparation and coordination work, it should consider how entrants will now learn the underlying process. Otherwise, efficiency at one stage may leave a gap in the future talent pipeline.

An HR team can redesign a junior assignment around verification, exception handling and stakeholder communication. The learner should still see enough of the original process to understand errors and dependencies. A supervisor can gradually increase the difficulty of the cases as judgement develops.

Put it into practice

  • Identify which routine tasks currently teach useful context or professional discipline.
  • Replace removed practice with supervised cases, observation and feedback.
  • Assess whether the junior employee can explain a decision independently, including when the AI-generated answer is wrong.
