Event Systematic perspective

Compensation decisions need role-specific evidence. The relevant question is which capabilities create value in the job and how scarce they are in the market the employer actually recruits from. A broad international average cannot determine the right pay for a local analyst, recruiter or engineer.

Start by comparing the scope of work before and after the proposed skill requirement. Does the role now include building a workflow, validating outputs or maintaining a production process? Define those responsibilities and review comparable vacancies. Then assess internal consistency so existing employees who acquire the same capabilities have a visible development route.

Put it into practice

  • Use the report as a prompt to review role scope, rather than applying its percentage to every salary.
  • Validate pay ranges against current local and sector-specific evidence.
  • Explain how assessed capability, responsibility and performance affect progression.
