Event Systematic perspective

Fluency is more than knowing a tool’s interface. A capable employee can recognise uncertainty, ask for relevant evidence and decide when a case needs another person. That judgement becomes especially important when a workflow spans several teams or combines software with physical operations.

A training assessment can present a routine case followed by an unexpected change. Ask the learner whether to continue, seek clarification or escalate, and why. The aim is to develop a reasoned response rather than reward the fastest answer. Keep the examples close to the learner’s actual responsibilities.

Put it into practice

  • Define escalation conditions in the workflow and teach the reason behind them.
  • Include ambiguous and out-of-scope cases in practice sessions.
  • Recognise sound judgement and timely reporting, even when they slow an individual task.
