Event Systematic perspective

An inclusive learning programme must address the conditions around participation. A course may be available online while remaining difficult to use for someone without a suitable device, reliable access or uninterrupted time. Those barriers affect who can build evidence of capability.

For a sponsored talent programme, budget for supported practice and mentoring alongside instruction. Explain the selection criteria and what the programme can realistically provide. Learners should leave with assessed work and a clearer next step, without being promised a job or income outcome that has not been secured.

Put it into practice

  • Check device, connectivity, language and scheduling needs before enrolment.
  • Provide a named mentor and a route for learners to ask for help privately.
  • Report completion, assessed capability and subsequent opportunities separately.
