Event Systematic perspective
A scenario is useful because it makes assumptions visible. A business can ask what changes if adoption is rapid, if integration remains difficult or if suitable talent is scarce. The purpose is to identify decisions that remain sensible under different conditions, rather than attach false precision to a single headcount forecast.
For a Malaysian services firm, compare the effect on delivery capacity, training needs and recruitment lead times. Separate commitments that must be made now from options that can wait for stronger evidence. This allows the company to prepare without treating every technology announcement as a reason to reorganise.
Put it into practice
- Write a small set of contrasting scenarios and name the assumptions behind each.
- Identify actions that remain useful across scenarios, such as better task documentation and transferable learning.
- Set observable review triggers, including demand changes and the results of internal pilots.
