Event Systematic perspective
An internal pilot often begins with enthusiastic volunteers. They are valuable partners, but they may not represent the full workforce. Their experience, task choices and motivation can influence the result. A rollout decision should consider whether other employees have the same support and working conditions.
After an initial exploratory trial, include a wider range of relevant participants and record their starting capability. Offer a consistent introduction and comparable tasks. Ask why someone declines to participate; the answer may reveal an access issue, workload pressure or a task that the pilot design has overlooked.
Put it into practice
- Describe who participated and who was not represented in the evaluation.
- Separate exploratory feedback from evidence intended to support a wider deployment.
- Test whether the workflow remains useful for less experienced users and ordinary operating conditions.
