Event Systematic perspective

A workforce briefing is stronger when each type of evidence has a defined role. Technical benchmarks describe capability under test conditions. Employer surveys describe expectations. Vacancy data describes advertised demand. Internal project results describe what happened in a particular organisation. None should silently stand in for the others.

For a talent management team, use a simple briefing template with a source, date, population and business implication. Add a separate line for what remains uncertain. This makes it easier for clients and managers to challenge assumptions and decide what additional evidence is needed before acting.

Put it into practice

  • Identify whether a claim is a measured result, forecast, survey response or vendor statement.
  • Prefer a small set of relevant sources to a large collection of repeated headlines.
  • Translate findings into a question to test locally before recommending a hiring or training commitment.
